i remember a story about a woman whose house was broken into. She drew a revolver, low caliber, connected 6 shots around center mass. Robber then walked out of the house and drove ~5 miles before dying.
Proficiency wont always save you.

Heres the story.
My memory was a little off on the distance and shot placement, been quite a while.
but 5 shots to the face and neck with a .38 , and he was able to drive off.
Id expect that from a bear, minus the driving. But never a man, heh

I bet you she connected maybe 1 or 2 in the torso, the rest went into extremities.

Like i said before, the best gun for self defense is the one you shoot well. People always mock the .380, but I don't see anyone volunteering to get shot with one.

Corrected myself in recent comment. 5 shots to the face and neck with .380
Memory on the event had faded over time
