Tecmos has it down pretty much. I don't think you will need to snare your charmed pets because you should always have sow on and the chanter should keep some distance between themselves and the mob. lvl 4 mez, or pbae stuns are fast cast so you can recharm.
I would also look at chanter solo guides and check out those spots. Think about how the duo would work in those areas and I bet this will give you new ideas for other places to go.
It's a great duo. Druid has everything that a chanter is missing.
