ranger is something you start after you are established. you dont play a ranger until you have a windstriker

Play what you want. Versatility is very useful in pvp. Regen, decent self heals, bows, DS, buffs, SoW, it all comes in handy.

Keep in mind it is one of the harder classes to play well though.

I'd wait until the hybrid penalty gets removed and ranger disciplines are added before I'd even consider starting one (Velious).

Thanks for all the feedback. It sounds like it will be tough but doable. More importantly, fun. I've played rangers a lot, but never on a PvP server.
