What do you call a carbonated beverage in your part of the world?

Colorado is definitely predominately a "pop" state. Wonder how I picked up soda.

I've lived in Michigan almost my entire life and pretty much everyone says pop here, I say soda and get strange looks....but I think it is just because of the way I speak. I have a deep voice and sometimes words like pop are easy for people to misunderstand if I am not shouting.

I don't think soda often but anything with cherry (Dr. Pep, Coke, Pepsi, etc) is my fav.

Definitely a regional thing, most people in the south call it Coke, then you have to elaborate on what kind of "Coke" (soda) afterwards.

I call it soda, but I am a rarity to not call it "pop" in Minnesota.

I call it soda. DUnno if I speak for all of Virginia though.

I guess the further south you go, it becomes Coke. Probably with the closer you get to Atlanta.
