Nobody still played a SK, or Pally, even with the Hybrid penalty off, because they couldn't still kill shit because the mobs had tons more HP. And nobody still liked a Ranger other than tracking. They couldn't Tank ANYTHING in Velious. Druids sucked other than Ports. And with Translocaters well what can I say. That pretty much leaves Bards and Wizards, well what can I say also. Bard Haste and Bard run speed in a group good. The rest the got nerfed like Chanters. don't remember Necro's getting anything to write home to mother about?? Damn good mana battery in Raids. Seems like they got Nerfed?

Is the penalty dropped on day one of Velious? I do not remember specifically

Ele - The Kael Patch gutted charming the hyperbuffed non-loot NPCs. Guild updates are often sensationalized.

Kael wolves were still charmable by druids - I'm absolutely positive on this. I don't think this has changed since then (Kael wasn't a revamped zone) - I will get someone to test on live if needed.

You can start charming some wolves at 52 with CoK (and I still use these), but I'd recommend Kael charming to 63 and above (not for charm, but for the 2k quick heal...it really helps). I have 3k hp and 4k mana and do just fine self-buffed with kei. I'd also recommend the Exodus aa...will really cut down on deaths.

Druids can charm the 'Drakkel Dire Wolves' in the pit south of the bank, and these things can pretty much tear up a better part of the zone.

might be a bit rough at 57, but find a level 53 drakkel dire wolf, and charm it with command of tunare, it hits for 240ish and can equip weapons to quad/proc, but summons so keep it above 96%, also regens really fast, so add some regen buffs and it can tear through mobs near bank without losing any HP.

Command of tunare is 63 =p

Call of Karana works on a few of the wolves though.

You will have a very rough time at 57 though.

haven't done it in a while, but basically, with wolf hasted and dual wielding, at the bank you can chew through things non stop.

Also, the loot giants still remained charmable. That's Troopers (Boltransable), Adjutants, Legionnaires, and Veterans. Dictate hits all of them, but Boltrans is usable on Troopers. Senior Guards are fine with Allure.

I would recommend two groups for kael arena ( I hate slow kills when I am farming [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] ) With some form of charm to handle adds.

If you're pulling inside Arena, unless you are very careful about the spawn timer, you're going to get an add now and then. Charming the add is really the easiest way to handle it.

This thread shows that the pet-aggro mechanics that we have now (aka pets giving threat to their controller).

-The charmer will get 50% of the agro generated by the pet. It was first changed to 100% but that was determined to be too much.

But also, another source of these giants not-flagged as charm immune.

Played in kael and I never had a charm last longer than 2-3 minutes on a lego I charmed in arena and several times had 3 breaks within one minute.

I would say a Ogre Shaman would be up there. One of the few classes than can solo Lodizal and Dragons in WW.

Enchanters will still be top dog at soloing, They'll be able to solo Lodi probably easier than a sham and can do similar things in WW, this isn't including Kael, SG, etc. People just get all awed of an ability of a shaman to last indefinitely vs a slowed mob that doesn't outdamage torpor.
