Default Client not writing log file

For some reason when I run the /log command to start logging my activity in-game, the client fails to create the "eqlog.txt" log file in my everquest root folder. I use Windows Vista and read somewhere that it might be a permission problem, but I checked off all permissions for every possible user and that file is still not being created. Any ideas?

Move the EverQuest folder out of your Program Files folder and change the game shortcut to match the new location. I cannot believe even on Live to this day (unless you have the new launcher v3) the EQ still tries to install to the Program Files by default.

In fact don't ever install any game into Program Files, instead use a dedicated Games folder on the root of the drive.
