Default what's a passthrough stab? and how do I do it?

I've tried to backstab when solo'ing as a rogue but I thought it was impossible?
Do you run through the enemy and then spin in a circle super fast? I'm never fast enough for this to work, not even close.

When a mob begins it's attack or cast animations it's facing is stuck until the attack is complete.

As such, you can move in such a way to be facing the mob's rear in order to backstab the mob.

One way to do it is to move behind the mob, let it attack you, then quickly step back and backstab as it is swinging.

Another way is to face diagonally while fighting the mob, then strafe into it's rear and backstab as it swings.

I see, so the swinging animation actually matters! I had been trying to do it with slam.
Also, yeah, easy to do on casting animations, I never even considered to try it on attack animations! good tip.

I've always stepped through the mob on the swing and stepped back to flip it. Not so smart against rogue mobs, but effective on everything else.

Slam and backstab should be on the same timer, you shouldn't be able to use one without it preventing the other from being used.

Yeah well it never worked [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] I just had guessed that's what passthrough meant when no one had explained it to me.

remember u dont have to face the rear completly, just getting in from the side is enough, this usually works best for frontstabbing solo, but its hard to get it in every time, but I guess if you practice(which mean lots of soloing) youll become quite the expert. I have only just started to practice this as I was soloing for my VP key. Fighting casters(suffice you survive being hit by the spells) is nice, you get lots of easy backstabs in, and can be lucky and interrupt the casting.
too bad the poisons are such a hard days work.
