Wanted and needed are two different things. Why is it needed?

People care about KDR and looking bad if they die with global YT, thus decreasing pvp. That's all that needs to be said to counter any of your arguments. There would be more pvp with no YT.

Sullon Zek had a leaderboard run by staff, so YT and leaderboard are a classic part of EQ. Here players created a leaderboard so obviously it was something the community wanted badly enough to create.

Without YT and leaderboard new players would have no idea who to look out for or the areas they frequent which would lead to more slaughter.

YT is bad for the server because you all care waaaaaaaay too much when you kill someone or get killed

this leads people to avoid getting YT'd by screen dragging, zone hopping, exploits, etc
