But then again what's the point? In, what, three years the server will be gobbled up into blue and you will either have to start over again on a new green server with a similar short life span and do that potentially ad infinitum or keep playing your hithero green char on blue where everyone has 5 level 60s with epic and all that.
I personally don't get the appeal of starting over on green as it will eventually just end up on blue but that is just me. Respect for those aching to kill orcs with rusty short swords and only get 25% of their spells while leveling etc [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Over three years isn't that "short" of a lifespan. In case you haven't noticed, P99 blue has pretty significant "churn", player turnover and attrition. The people you play with on blue will largely have quit and been replaced more than once by the time green recycles. Some will stay, some will leave and come back once or more, some will never come back.
What's more relevant to me is how can I care about farming NToV or trying to get a primal, or BiS loot in general...for a server that is never going past velious. Back in era the guilds in NToV and Sleepers knew an expansion was coming and they wanted to be best positioned to defeat it with their Velious gear. Here its a neverending farm status server. It can be fun but ultimately there's no where left to go.
As much as people get fixated on raid gear, BiS loot, being level 60 and killing stuff with your guild (and all those things are fun and tend to be what I end up doing too) the real game in EQ or any MMO has always been your character's little rags to riches path. This plays out better in the forced reset of green than it can in the inflated environment developed on blue.
