Remember its a REMAKE and not a REMASTER, things like turned based combat and world map will prob be cut and changed. Its obviously not going to be as good as the original but it should be good own its on. Lets hope they at least keep the plot the same, personally i would like more aeris x cloud romance that way when she bites the dust it will leave more of an emotional impact, even tho we all know tifa and cloud get down and dirty near the end of the game.

they are saying "Play it first on ps4" so they are likely hinting that it will be PS4 exclusive at first but then be available for other platforms, like what they did with FF13 and now its available for PC

The big problem with this remake is that its being made by square-enix which, if you look at their games since the square-enix merger, has all been pretty much garbage catering to some weird new breed of young japanese cross dressing androgynous gamers

that's literally a description of the protagonist of original FF7. and it's glorious.

The real issue is shit gameplay and hallway maps. I pray to Jesus they go for a "retro" combat aesthetic - the new actiony bullshit is total shit. I think they're going to be obligated to have a World Map. If there's no World Map I'd take it as a pretty strong indicator that they're going to let this remake go to the dogs.

Which really kinds sucks. The materia system is one of the all-time-best, turn-based RPG systems.

Also, I haven't played a nice turn-based RPG in a long time (not counting XCOM Enemy Within). They tend to have a certain relaxed, laid-back feel that real time games don't necessarily offer.

They can keep the materia system in and still make it an ARPG. From what i have heard the ff7 remake is going to be a mix of FF7 (plot) and FF13 (combat/corridor maps). Will the finished project be good? who knows, im just glad we are getting a remake at this point.
