i don't expect people like you to switch over to red; you very clearly either just love the raid scene i described or hate everquest pvp(probably because awful at it)

whether or not you join red has nothing to do with the fact that i enjoy a much deeper everquest experience than you and i don't have to go to incredible lengths to do so
Actually some of the most fun I've ever had in EQ was outplaying people in pvp in situations where I was outnumbered. If it had a larger population or not as many cancerous players in its population as it does right now then I might have even played it. I enjoy playing the blue server the way I do and its just hilarious to watch you guys spam up blue related threads with advertisements and testimonials about how all our dreams will come true if we come over to red.

I genuinely feel bad for people who raid on blue when the raid server is an option

i chortle every time i think about people choosing to play on a server where if you want trakanon, you have to sift through 3 pages of legal documents while staring at a spawn point and casting/canceling call of the hero over and over for upwards of 16 hours and it all comes down to a coin flip on who can press a javelin faster while burning through soulfires, DA idols, and bladestoppers
Do you also chortle when you realize the vast majority of people actually find this absurd state of affairs on blue an improvement over red?

I played blue recently till 21 and then stopped.

Problems:
1. Most people are quite twinked. They prefer you to be geared especially if a tank.
2. There's a bunch of plvl'ing going on, which is not only disheartening but it clears entire xp zones.
3. Many xp places I went were camped. I saw a twinked warrior holding down spots solo in uguk.
4. WTB prices are too expensive even though I had accumulated 1k pp.

Endgame problems I heard of:
1. Every spot with high-value loot is perma-camped, with a waiting list.
2. Several guilds rotate boss mobs. So you have to wait 3(5?) x 5(7+) days for a particular boss.
3. Boss mobs die within minutes of spawning to zerg raids.

So I rolled red this weekend.
1. Blue had 1,700 people; red under 170.
2. The xp comes so fast you have even bigger problems purchasing your spells. This should be solved once I hit the lfay sisters camp. I've heard its perma-solved once you level high enough to farm giants or seafuries.
3. Its not easy to get a port or a bind.
4. /ooc is server wide, and used for auctions. Someone has to port to trade, there is no EC tunnel. Funny enough this made my experience closer to that of the first months of EQ.
5. I may end up having to roll a druid to trade or port a cleric for a rez.

I've heard there isn't much ganking at low-med levels. I assume its done by bored high levels.

A static group is a great asset on red, as the /ooc suggests it takes a while to form a group. I wouldn't be surprised if a good sixed static group could hit 60 within 1.5 months. That would not be possible on blue without plvl'ing.

I prefer red.
Borrowed from the starter zone, and I'd add to this.

Last night I was in a CoM group, we went up to the 2nd and 3rd floor. The group was so good that nobody wanted to leave - SK/monk/bard/cleric (me)/druid/rogue. Ended up staying there over 3 hours.

Sure that can happen on blue as well, but the way people talk about red... it's like that experience can never happen on red. Surely I was meant to be killed repeatedly, bind camped and laughed at til I logged out? That's the way blue players seem to paint it.

We were 3-4 different guilds, we got along for the sake of XP.

Why didn't they kill me? Well... aren't we all trying to get somewhere? (60)

So if you're bored one day, can't get a group in MM/Unrest/CoM/KC/Seb/etc... why not open a 2nd window while LFG and give it a go? Nothing to lose.

I wish I had frapsed my first time on red, it was absolutely the most stereotypical R99 experience I could have imagined. Rolled a troll shaman, got to lvl 4 and then a Ogre warrior with a fungi, lammy etc showed up and ganked me, stole my 18 silvers and then called me a faggot about 15 times for hanging around the guards waiting for him to leave. No idea i could rustle some R99er that hard by just existing on his server, the whole incident still makes me lol to this day.

Anyway im gonna go play some real PvP in one of the other 15,000 MMOs that do it better than EQ. Got some guild events in Archeage today that should result in a 400+ man naval battle between several guilds (hope the pirates show up to make it even more interesting). Have fun jousting and LnSing while I'm commanding a fleet of warships.

Taking a full group to 2nd or 3rd is asinine.
