Also, it is possible to "boost" your MMR by duo queuing with someone of a significantly higher MMR IF they are capable of carrying you. Risky for them if they feel they will get into 4v5 matches but if they are confident its do-able. More so if you eat it and take the support role. I know a popular female streamer who was a bronze player prior to streaming, got a few lonely nerd high end players interested in her good looks and got elo boosted into legitimacy.

Duoing will raised both of your MMR slightly when it tries to match you against others. If you win a game you gain less MMR than normal. If you lose a game you lose more MMR than normal. Since this is your first time playing ranked you will start with a low MMR rating. After several more games you should end up where you belong.

It is too late now, but at the beginning of next season you will definitely want to solo your placement matches. Unless you don't mind the penalty, of course.

Didn't know that negative K/D ratios also go into it. But no, nothing major.
KDA has no effect towards placement, LP, or MMR.

Sounds messed up to me. Surprised they aren't clearer about this and make it known to the players in advance.

It is pretty well documented, but unfortunately they don't explicitly state it.

I just wanna get out of Bronze. The players are not only bad at the game but are troll-y douchers as well.

How the hell does that happen? Were you playing support? Negative K/D ratios in some games?
It looks for more than just wins losses. I.e. gold per time.
