I played nothing but PVP on live, years ago.

The reasons I only got to lvl 14-15 on Red years ago when I first started on p99:

1. I found the chat awkward, I didn't understand the global chat, etc. To this day I can't recall exactly how it works, I just remember trying to communicate when I first logged in, and i couldn't do so easily with anyone.

2. I found the population so tiny that I felt alone most of the time. I got to lvl 14-15, and just had no ambition to level past that.


I can't speak on awful deleveled toons CCing people, because when I first started on Red the server was fairly new, I don't think there was any of that going on.

I started on Blue, and found the PVE more engaging than newer MMOs, and I also learned very quickly that most PVE content I never really enjoyed much as a PVPer because back then I only logged in to kill people and log out.

I did not explore the world of EQ, which is what I do now. I make tons of alts, like to dungeon crawl and see things I never seen before when I was younger and only cared about PVP.

I also find the population is plentiful on Blue, maybe too plentiful at times, but it adds a social aspect that Red does not.

I suspect the PVP environment is really bad on Red, seeing how most of them interact with eachother on the forums, as if they are still 15 year old online bullies with such silly juvenile shit talk.

I just have no interest in that kind of atmosphere, so here I am on Blue.

I would love to play red , but I think what holds me back is that I would want to play with friends and I really don't think I can convince anyone to play there. If someone was interested in a static group playing once or twice a week, I think I could give a better effort.

I think it's just hard to go to another server and be in rags when you're established on blue is all. On the flips idea though, there's nothing more freeing than to know you have the opportunity for a fresh start [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Red would be the antithesis of fresh. Youre going to see deleveled twinks grief you in rags.
