It bugs me when people anthropomorphize animals like this. If you keep thinking of the creature like a human rather than like the animal it actually is, it makes it harder to actually understand or care for it.

Aside from that, was this guy actually part of animal control, or a law enforcement officer? I would expect animal control officers to adhere to standard protocol a lot better than that.

This is also the first time I've heard of cops shooting cats for little to no understandable reason. It's usually family dogs.

Little dog syndrome occurs because people anthropomorphise their dogs and think "furry baby" instead of "dog that needs training."
