So much ignorance in one thread. I hate to agree with Fishy, but he's absolutely correct in this instance (don't let it go to your head).

We just need to hang out ingame. I'm only an asshole on the forums! Well, and in real life I guess.

Resists are the ONLY thing you need for AoE kiting. The only things that can possibly stop you are the following three things: Snare, Root, and Dispel. All of these are resistable on P99 - Dispel should not be resistable, but for some reason it is.

Crown of King Tranix is the perfect Bard item. SS Helm is more for procing your OT Hammer, which is also nice. Basically, get a ton of resist gear and the rest of what Egil just said.
I'm trying to be as nice as possible when i say this, but almost nothing you said in your post was correct. Saying that SS helm is just for proccing your OT hammer is ludicrous. It's obviously much faster to proc it off of a player or a mob, and the only situation where you need it for this purpose is maybe if you're stuck in trak's lair and no one else is around. Moreover, SS helm is CLEARLY useful for much more than that, it's one of the best pulling items in the game. It allows Bards to pull while staying at their camp and playing their songs. It also takes HT's and lets you pull through areas that are difficult to travel back from (like the paintings in Howling Stones).

Have you solo AE leveled on a bard, Slave?

Resists are entirely pointless.

If you aggro a caster such that you would even have anything to resist, you're screwed even if a spell never lands on you because whenever stuff stops to cast they aren't in the pack anymore and if you circle back around they are right there to bash you and get you killed.

I guess maybe resists could avoid a death if you accidentally aggro a caster and are then trying to zone out or something. But if you're paying attention to what's going on you should be able to outdistance anything that tries a spell on you before it finishes anyways.
Have you ever leveled a bard? When you accidentally pull a caster, you don't run to the zone, you dispose of it with other mobs using charm. This will save your ass about 30 minutes of gathering and kiting time. Way to totally distort what I said. Resists aren't for pulling and kiting casters (DUH REALLY?!), they're to survive long enough to dispose of threats without losing a huge, valuable AOE.

You're going to be procing your OT Hammer off your Eye about ten times more than you'll be taking HTs with it, or pulling through paintings in Howling Stones. It's so ultimately useful in just getting out of areas, and the guy says he's going to be pretty much AOEing to 60, that wow, go figure, I broke down and said that it's more for procing your OT Hammer. Way to go crazy over nothing.

Of course you can do fun and even unique things with it. I didn't mean to imply otherwise, and I will go back and CAPITALIZE the word MORE. But if you're regularly pulling in dungeons with your Eye, I'd like to introduce you to a couple of classes I like to call Monk and Shadowknight.

I'm glad that you spared me your impotent wrath on the rest of what I said though, especially since almost nothing I said in it was correct. Explaining the obvious again and again whenever you post is getting tedious.

Lolbards agro'ing casters while kiting. What is this amateur hour? And of course you fucking zone it instead of wasting time killing it. How long do you actually spend gathering in OT anyway? In like 10 min you can have 50+ mobs, waste of time killing casters you agro because you're bad at gathering.

Really, you're going to give up a level of experience and 20-30 minutes of gathering and burning because you're too big of a wuss with no resist gear to take on one caster?

We're sorta like 7-Eleven. We're not always doing business, but we're always open.

ETA: The best bang for the buck item I ever bought for AE kiting was Jboots. Not even trolling.
