Tiered gearing/zoning is what killed EQ, not graphics or cats/aliens on the moon.

yes diggles has assburgers and is obese.. on another note.. eq lost its bang when WoW came out.. which was more appealing and easier for the average person trying to play a mmorpg. Blizzard had way more marketing skills then sony/verant. Chuck norris, mr.t or even ozzy. What did eq have some big convention with tons of nerds? Come on thats the truth why eq died because it just laid down

This is a sadly common misconception. WoW is derivative and simplified in an insulting way when you have the gaming experience to see it.
