It was never intended to stick. I did everything I wanted to do with that ban. Salty is always trolling other people for his own entertainment. And now that big Salty got trolled by big Uthgaard, he cried.

That's all that happened. I didn't even ask to have him banned, Uthgaard did it on his own time. Nilbog reversed it after this drama started on FOH. Uthgaard posts in this thread after the ban is reversed. Personally I don't want Salty gone... he's trolled me hard sometimes, he may have cheated at one point, but he's also good at making his logic seem right on the internet. For that, I commend him.

The reason why I thanked Uthgaard at the time is because I thought he was doing his job, and thanked him for doing it, because I can not do anything about it and he thought it would be a good thing to ban him. Besides, the post I had was in rants & flames, I am technically not a developer since 2010, so it was legitimate that he was allowed to flame me. I thought it was funny that he got banned, personally, but that's because we've butted heads a lot.

That being said, we shouldn't really let personal vendettas get in the way (I had way too many of them when I was a developer, way too many to be a GM, and I stepped down because of them, they were getting in the way of my work.) and we should just move on from this with Salty unbanned. He didn't do anything wrong. He flamed an ex-developer, that's about it. That being said, if Salty gets banned for posting a troll post outside of rants and flames, I would say let that stay if I was still in power.

Yes, Salty DID get banned for posting a flame post in rants & flames.

Yes, Uthgaard banned Salty on his own. I did not specifically ask him to do it.

No, I am not a developer. Even though I do developer things and keep in regular contact with the developers due to my involvement with the client and other tidbits lately, I am not an official developer and I should get the same privileges as Salty. That I will agree with, even if he's a troll.

Yes, Nilbog was trying to be the better man here. He posted on a forum inhabited by Fires of Heaven members trying to make things better with Salty. Salty was banned on these forums. The fact that Nilbog tried to reach out to him was mature.

Keep in mind that posting on Fires of Heaven doesn't typically get you unbanned for things the p1999 staff had hard proof on you.

The "Salty" card only works when you are legitimately right.

You look like every other player on here and without a tag wtf are people going to know they insulted a staff member if they get into a spat with you and wind up banned?

I have no bone in this, I don't play on the server and just popped over when I heard red99 was in the works. I'm looking forward to it, rather I was until I started seeing things posted by you and SSs of certain broadcasts you've made.

Yes I did play on VZTZ but I doubt most people who played it even know who I am. I'm not "one of them" if you might think I am or even think of The Box players in Us vs Them terms.

You don't respect players, they won't respect you. It is up to you as an authority figure on this server to set the standard, not the likes of Salty.

Act in a manner becoming your position in this community or you'll slowly rot it to the core and it'll be as empty and lifeless as VZTZ became.

I know you're overworked. All the more reason to focus on deving and leave the community in the hands of others with free time to waste and an unstressed temper.

The sad fact is that after reading so much over the last few days, I don't even know if my account here will remain open after posting this.

I hold no disrespect towards you or any member of the staff here, quite the opposite, it's because of this projects unique position that I'm very worried that it will be messed up over mundane, human trifles as what ruined VZTZ.

I want this project to succeed whether or not I play, whether or not a red server ever comes out because if you guys go under, it'll pull a massive carpet from underneath the eqemu community.

And as a PvPer, it'll be the last nail in the coffin for a classic red server.

So if I do get banned, consider this: You got rid of a potential new player and you just saved me a whole whack of time I might have wasted on your server before winding up banned over something silly if this post is enough to get the hammer put on me.

Further more, it'll be clear proof for others to the character of this staff.

In response to the first thing: Secrets stepped down.

To the lot of stuff you said: If Uth wasn't such a hard ass he would get sucked into hours of *debates* where people would try to nickle and dime him. Which would then quickly burn him out. I prefer a hard-ass decision that he doesn't have to dwell on. That let's him not have to lose sleep over a decision made in a damn game where 30-something yr olds act like 9 year olds.

With Uth if you act as an adult he will treat you as such(because the only time you will interact with him is when he is bored and out poaching fun by changing people into diff models.)
