My argument is that dark elves have black skin. That they are only blue because computer graphics were bad in 1999. Any thoughts on this discussion?
IDK if this is accurate. I have seen plenty of Dark Elf art where the skin is closer to india ink than blue, but when you look at the original Drow books, particularly the Drizzt books from the 80s, the art on the covers almost always depicted the Dark Elves as having a blue tint.

In your defense I googled it and everything I read describes Drizzt as being black, but all of the art of him from the 80s and early 90s always shows him as Blue, so I'm guessing that the artists based their concepts for Dark Elves based off of that.

Supposedly this was the first ever appearance of Drizzt on the Homeland cover:

After reading about it more, I think the OG Dark Elves from Forgotten Realms were always described as having black skin, but were depicted as having blue skin in and art and over time it became the norm for Dark Elves to be blue.

I guess if you go back really far though, the Dark Elves from the Tolkien universe looked like normal elves?
