If we want to embrace the officer aspect I do think female officers and older officers rely on their firearm too much.

Firearms are an equalizer,
a smaller female officer can't always take down a criminal. That's not sexist that's science. So they pull out their firearm to show the criminal hey don't fuck with me we're equal here.
Older officers use their firearm for a similar reason. They don't want to get dragged to the ground and scuffed. So they pull out their firearm to show the criminal hey don't fuck with me we're equal here.

So it is very possible that the female officer was presented with a situation that caused a muscle response. Something subconscious. Then having someone yelling in your ear to pull the trigger, it just happened.
