I give Yaks to my charmed pets. Yaks are garbage compared to most Kunark weapons. If your heart is set on wielding them you shouldn't have much issue finding one for next to nothing.
If you are a pet class, duo with another pet class. Pets can't take xp in groups, plus for every group member you have mobs give you 8% more xp so this will almost always be a faster way to level. If you want to slay big dragons on this server, be prepared to lose sleep. 1001 ways to have fun in EQ. Find what entertains you and rock it out.
