Default Hybrid spell levels STILL not fixed after all these YEARS?

I can't believe this. I downloaded the updater, logged in for the first time in YEARS, and the old issue of ranger/shadowknight/paladin spell levels being set to level 255 still exists? Why hasn't anybody gone in and edited the spells.txt file to correct this yet? Are we expected to do this ourselves if we want to play these classes?

What was so hard to understand? I went to buy some spells and where it says the class and level it says ranger/shadowknight/ or paladin (255). This was an issue I was having years ago and it's still here even with the updater. Someone needs to go in and change the spell levels for those classes.

It's hard to understand because you didn't specify which spells are causing you problems. I haven't heard of spell level issues in a long time.

Specifically, which spells do you think you should be able to cast?

I was actually playing a shaman but when I went to buy spells I noticed the levels were wrong for the hybrid classes that can also use those spells. Simple spells like Cure Disease and Cure Poison are set to level 255 for the hybrids. There are probably others but I didn't check every spell on every spell vendor to see how deep the problem went. No spell in the game should be set to level 255 for any class.

this was on the red server if it makes any difference. There's only ever 20 people on there at any time so you probably don't have a lot of hybrid players to complain about it.

The spells that are listed as 255 are intended to be this way.The spells your referring to weren't made hybrid usuable till velious or later thats why you arent able to cast them.

Rangers didn't get those spells during Classic - they only become available to them during the Velious era. The spell level (255) for Rangers prevents them from using those spells until the correct in-game era.
