Unless things have changed THTA drastically since I've played (Legion was the last time I played I think?) then this is B.S. In WoW PVP is almost exclusively between factions (arena aside) and you literally cannot even speak the language of the opposing factions in game. Unless you're like "real-id" friends with someone who is playing on the opposing faction, there was just no means of communication.

That's why it was never personal. Becuase you couldn't talk or commuicate. ut that doesnt mean people werent brutal about it. You'd get camped, locked out of a quest region etc, for hours at a time sometimes.

And after several deaths you start having multiple minute delays on your resurrection. starts with no delay. Then a few seconds. then 30 seconds. then a minute. then 3 minutes. I cant remember if it went further than that. But it sucked.

The first raid guild I join was a Korean guild on the Prexus server called "Souls of Mir". It was great because I'd get home from school at like 4pm and the raid was already started and clearing trash. Raid would wrap up around 8-9pm and i'd get a good night's sleep before school the next day. And I was popular in the guild cuz I was the crazy american.

On Prexus I was in Southern Armada the big guild that eventually did time and my IRL friends guild called An Sli Amach.

Things have changed drastically.

1) x-faction is a thing now. horde and alliance can be in the same guild as each other now. they can queue for content together, and easily speak with one another.

2) as an alliance player, most of the time I queue for PvP I end up getting placed on horde teams. I don't know why, but it's actually true.

3) Discord - this one is probably the main thing. Most WoW realms have super active Discord servers (think of all the P99 discord servers and then multiply it by 100). Because you have top players from both factions in the same Discord, friendships naturally form.

My closest friend on my current server is an Alliance Rogue... who also has a Horde Rogue who he logs onto to gank Alliance players for lulz - including me. Game is not divided at all when it comes to faction in 2025.

I dont suppose you expect anyone to believe t hat, do you? I'm sure you guys probably exploited it. But it is almost a certainty you weren't the first to do so. It was probably a common issue

I dont care if anyone believes it. You know what's funny is I had so many real life friends who played EQ, but haven't seen any of them in over 20 years. I have them added on facebook, but we don't talk regularly. If there's ever a real-life meet up, I do want to ask them if they remember doing all of that crazy stuff back in the day on EVERQUEST. I would never even mention to any of them that I play p99 in 2025 because it would be kind of embarrassing. Even though some of them were more into EQ than I was back in the day, I feel like they out-grew it before I did. IDK if any of them would still long for it the way I do. Most of them have wives and kids now etc.

While not just me directly, this event is easily the worst thing I was ever involved in during live. Our guild (Veil of Shadows) had a feud with Strategeme. During PoP, RZ was the obvious bottleneck to getting into the elemental planes.

If I recall, Strategeme would often go and hold the place holders for the event with really no actual ability to down them and just sit there for long periods of time. Well, we said F that and decided to break their mez which in turn set off a couple hours long event of each guild training the other, eventually leading to the whole zone crashing and a whole bunch on non-guilded people getting really Fed over in the process.

Each guild had a "pocket GM" which were called in and made things crazier (I can't recall exactly but it was something with respawning mobs and such). In the end, both guilds got banned for a week since this was the culmination of other instances like this happening. Pretty sure one of the GM's got fired.
