Default Warriors in Kunark

I can't remember, but was it Kunark where Warriors finally started to become the king of MTing? I believe with the Seb drops and Epics, this is where they started to shine.

It's mostly because of the defensive disciplines, but yeah.

Wasn't it the defensive discipline, the higher defensive/offensive skill caps, and the naturally better-than-knight stat scaling for DPS and defensive capabilities that make warriors MTs?

Warriors have ALWAYS been the preferred MT in classic EQ, Kunark doesn't change this. If anything, it exacerbates the difference between warriors and knights.

But yes, warriors get some nice improvements in Kunark. The warrior epic with its +hate proc, the cobalt bracers (shamans and fellow raiders rejoice!), etc. But these are just icing on a class that is already a cornerstone of the holy trinity.

Disciplines, better melee skill caps, and lots of great weapon options

Good weapons are very easy to get in Kunark -- that alone makes warriors way better.

IIRC Warriors cap out at 19 damage intervals instead of 20, giving them a lower max hit. They also have the highest stamina scaling by level.

I read that post, but I didn't see mention of the 19 max DI for warriors. Good read though and thanks for sharing.

Couple other nice little bonuses to warriors:

-- Kick interrupts NPC casters at level 55. If you arent a OGR/TRL/BAR, you finally can stop hotswapping shields to ghetto bash.. It's glorious.

-- You get evasive at 52, Defensive at 55.. Life is grand. Quick reuse timers as well, so it's just as useful in an xp grind as it is on a raid encounter.

-- You get mightystrike at 53 and fellstrike at 58. Separate timer and disc line than defensive and and awesome way to show off silly crits and crippling blows while screaming 'LOOK AT ME TURN HITS ON".

-- You finally get a real 'oh snap!' button - Furious at 56. 12 seconds of being completely impervious to any melee attack from the front. Which coincidentally is two seconds of time to type out 'HEAL ME DAMMIT' and get the cleric casting CH.

Whoever said weapons are easy to get isn't quite right... GL getting a jade mace from Karnors. Ringed Yak... Probably the only weapon out of Karnors you'll see drop at a brisk (or even slightly tepid) pace is the Jarsath Trident (11/22 no proc piercer)..

For shorties the Brell Keg Popper (15/35 proc yaulp shorties only) drops in the crypt area in Seb, as well as the Yak club (9/24 ykesha effect 1hb). On the way to crypt at the guardian camp you can score a crys short sword (12/24 no stats) cane of the tranquil (11/25 war/mnk) or Lamenation (9/19 20hps).. None of which proc... Once you hit up disco you've got an outside chance of getting the 9/20 Stun Hammer on random froggies, but i sure as heck never saw one on beta.

Move on to Reets and Juggs n Shrooms and you'll eventually see the green jade axe (17/34 1hs), Croaking Dirk (10/18 piercer), BoTBDE (14/24) etc... but i mean cmon...Everything in the last 2 paragraphs is keyed dungeon, gonna be heavily targetted, and most drops won't leave the groups that get them, much less the guilds those groups represent.

Don't sell your yaks just yet, young grasshoppa. Unless you get beyond lucky on proc'n weapons, having two weapons that interrupt cast is invaluable when crawling in seb/chardok. A warriors main versatility comes from having a few weapons to swap in and out situationally (2hander for damage shields, stun weaps for casters, trunch for slows, tash stick, etc..). And the EC Tunnel isnt going to help you obtain any of that for months. And even if it were, those mages who farmed 100k+ are going to laugh at your when try and buy something they want.
