What was the lore behind zone revamps?
Anyone super nerdy into EQ lore who knows the official explanation story-wise behind things like the splitpaw revamp, chardok revamp, the hate\fear revamps, the CT (zone) revamp shortly after Luclin launched that turned it into a 50+ dungeon?
Did they just change it one day and pretend it had always been like that? The CT revamp was really drastic, always wondered how they explained that. | ||

IIRC there wasn't always lore behind it. Like wasn't Splitpaw just revamped because the devs realized there was a need for there to be a more useful dungeon in that level range in that part of the world?

CT revamp possibility - Cazic invaded Faydwer around the same time Lanys+dark elves took over WC and Befallen in the leadup to Luclin launch(Dec 4 2001) probably something in that storyline.

The biggest revamp I think you could argue was actually 'needed' was Freeport, because an entire expansion was centered around it. They just did an absolutely awful job of it.
Most of the revamps just seem like bad attempts to modernize old zones. Misty Thicket, Innothule Swamp, Commonlands, Ro/Oasis etc. | ||
