Am i doing it right?

I sit
I stare at my hp/mana
When i get correct amount of hp/mana (16hp) i stand
canni
Etc

Only thing im having trouble with is if im ok to stand when the tick hits the correct amount but then jumps up like 20 then settles back down. Can i stand as soon as i see the correct number or do i have to wait for it to jump then settle back?
