Default Cant log in to servers

Problem just started, today was logged on yesterday no problem, trying to log on now and it tells me a time out occurred or will let me into a blank server list and i dont know what to do. I already checked my internet which is fine and checked the server status which says up so quite confused here somebody please help if they can.

update: tried uninstalling and reinstalling and still nothing.....just the same ERROR: time out occurred/ or if i make it past that i get a server select screen that is still empty... the only new thing is now i have got a different message when trying to log in stating that i should check my internet connection or check scheduled server maintenance.... yet again please somebody help me with this issue

You're probably experiencing the same thing others have with ISP routing issues. For some internet things, you're fine, but not the server. ping project1999.com -t and see what it looks like. not that it helps, just tells us if that's your issue.
The standard thing to try is a VPN to change how you route to the servers. Go wired vs wireless would be a good try as well. After that, restarting your ISP's equipment, your own router etc.

Sorry bout the slow reply sadly I tend to forget bout the forums when there are no problems =D. Now to the meat of this.... I understand what you are saying however due to my lack of knowledge when it comes to computers I don't know how to do any of that(well other than changing to a wired connection). I actullay "fixed" the problem by pulling out my old laptop installing EQ P99 and using it which for some strange reason worked. I'm still using my laptop to play EQ because strangely I'm still having the same problem on my desktop. So problem is still there if you would like to tell me how to "ping" so I can post the results for you I would be more than happy to. Thanks for trying to help!
