Character syncing

Odd issue here:

I logged in at work today and camped but must have crashed when camping and never checked on work comp again before leaving.

Now, I am trying to log in on my home comp but it is saying I have an active character, please allow a minute for synchronization... it’s been almost 4 hours since I was on at work.

Any ideas? Or am I stuck driving back to work ?
