YOU HAVE BEEN DISCONNECTED

Hi, all - I am a brand new player, just installed Titanium and the Project 1999 files today. I have been looking forward to playing - I was an avid EQ player back in the 90s. Anyway, I've gone through character creation a bunch of times tonight, and each time I finish up with creating my character, I immediately get a black screen with 'YOU HAVE BEEN DISCONNECTED.' displayed. Then I'm back to the login screen.

I've found several forum posts with others expressing this same problem, but no solutions that I can try. Anyone have any suggestions? Is there a step I am missing?
