Default Alternative to FRAPS for mac?

Just looking into LEGALY FREE alternatives to FRAPS for mac users. Without AV capture software, running at 42 ping with 100 fps on avg with all game settings maxed in most pre-VP raids. Exceptions: opacity for all spells is reduced to about 30% and /show 1 is normal to reduce clutter. Pretty much raid with everything else maxed at a resolution of 2560x1400. Would like to find alternative software that doesn't up my ping much if at all due to system resource monopolization while maintaining those same settings.

I'm running an early 2013 rMBP 15" on a 27" thunderbolt display with the game client running in a wineskin rather than a windows VM, although I am willing to consider the windows VM if that is necessary. Just drops battery life from 5.5 hours of gameplay in wineskin to 90 minutes with windows VM. I am unwilling to "permanently" commit HDD space to windows and use Bootcamp.

Suggested apps?

Quicktime. It should already be installed on your macbook.

Launch Quicktime Player then right click the icon in the tray and select 'New Screen Recording'.

It will give you the option to record your whole screen or to drag a box around the area you wish to record.

My understanding is that quicktime will try and record in full resolution and destroy framerate. I'll have to play with that. I also downloaded the OBS mac client. I should have an opportunity to test both this evening. Have you messed with quicktime in lieu of fraps?

It runs smooth for me, you can try reducing the record quality in the settings before recording.

Some people use OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) which is often used with Twitch, is free, etc. That's got to be Mac compatible surely?

I use Bandicam but on a PC, not sure if mac compatible.
