Default Guilds Page on Wiki: Worth the Trouble?

My previous guild broke up, so now I'm looking for a new one, and I'm finding it difficult to figure out which guild would be a good match. The problem is, to figure out if a guild meets my qualifications (eg. needs a shaman, raids on PST) I have to click through every thread in the guild forum, and even then many don't include all that information in their thread.

So, I was thinking of starting a guild page in the wiki. This page would be a giant table, with one row per guild and then columns for things like:
  • guild type ("family/leveling", "class C", "class R")
  • typical raid times
  • classes desired
  • link to webpage
  • etc.
Before I do all that work though I wanted to ask: would anyone else find such a page useful?

Heh, exactly like that, except in easy to read table form :-)

Maybe I should call it a "Guild Summary Page".

Well, and also that page doesn't have information like the typical play times of the guild (which I think is very relevant when you're trying to decide on a guild).

You know what, I think I'll just start making the table with a few guilds at the top of that page. If it works out I'll add more, and if not it's easy enough to delete the table.

There's now a new "summary" table at the top of the wiki page:

http://wiki.project1999.com/Guilds:Guild_List#Summary

However, the wiki info seems rather out of date (many newer guilds aren't on it, and I'm not sure all of the guilds on it are still active), so I'll be doing my best to update the summary with info from the guild forum as I find the time.

By the way, the current columns of the table are:

  • Name (and Link to Forum Thread)
  • Type
  • Typical Raid Times
  • Loot
  • Recruiting For
  • Voice Chat
  • Website

Does anyone have any suggestions for other relevant information that someone trying to pick out a guild might want to know (information that can fit inside a table column)?

you forgot to add columns for "RMT" and "Hacking" --- just kidding, obviously [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

might want to add a column for contact player in game (recruitment officer, etc.)
