Default Turgur's Insects & Cure

As of the Oct 23 patch counteract and cure disease have no effect on removing Turgur's Insects, nor does antidote. I did not test cancel magic or other slows.

So, I read the redirect, but I am still confused, abolish disease should get rid of the slow... but it isn't now?

You should be able to use the cancel magic line of spells to get rid of slow (if it's in a convenient slot to cancel out) however this also doesn't work here. Slow currently is totally incurable for anyone and you can't even get rid of it with cancel magic, which is another bug next to cancel magic not working on group members and pets.

Dispell removes your buffs going from slot 1 to 15 regardless of beneficial or detrimental. The 'regardless of beneficial/detrimental' was patched in at some point so that dispell removes all beneficials before it has to a chance to remove detrimentals. But it was post luclin.

So yea, remove magic spells can drop off detrimental effects like slow or snare.

wow, this has made npc shaman slows infinitely more annoying. i had initially assumed that this was a bug and would be fixed eventually. tanks are going to have to get serious about stacking their buffs properly...

It doesn't. Here is what happened when I tried it on myself:

Test case: I as shaman am casting Tagar's Insects on myself having several buffs up and removing buff in slot 1, Tagar's Insects lands in slot 1 and I begin casting Cancel Magic, it kills buff in slot 2 and leaves Tagar's Insects untouched.

My guess is that slow type spells are still treated as a disease instead of a magical debuff like Malo, Cripple, Root, Splurt, Ignite Blood etc even if they have no disease counters anymore.

Bump, confirmed last night that slow cannot be dispelled or cured in any fashion after having it cast on me and attempting to dispel it with dispel magic. It was the top slot on my buff window, cancel magic skipped it and dispelled one of my buffs instead.
