Pet gets kill, cant loot, but also zoned, whats the cause?

Hi,

I tried to kill a guy on my necro (lvl 8). My pet got the kill, and I zoned from guards. I came back, found corpse, couldnt loot.

Was this because I zoned, or was this because pet got the kill, or both?

So I suppose, the main Q's are:

• Can i kill someone with necro pet and still loot?
• What about DoT?
• What about after zoning?

because you zoned

dot or pet = you can loot corpse

zone = no loot corpse
