Default I'm a new bard and I sound terrible when I sing

Heloooooo Norrath,

I'm Okepo, the newest (lvl 5) half elf bard to plunder your ears with my awful singing and music (i'm real bad at it). I've been slaying bats and orcs in Faydwer and they've been slaying me. I even tried to sing my Chords of Dissonance to the friendly orc lift guards and do you know what?!?!?! They didn't like it very much.

I recently hopped a boat to the fair town of Freeport. I stumbled my way through the confusing sandy mess and eventually found a tunnel in the side of a mountain where people of all sorts gather and yell very loudly about what they're selling and what they are buying.

Hope to see you out there, feel free to leave advice for a total newb bard.

PS: I'm here for the awesome community, very hard to find this in other mmos.

Welcome to the server Okepo. I too am a fresh-minted bard, doing much the same as you at level 8, around Qeynos Hills and Blackburrow.

I think you'll find the community is really great here. Blackburrow is notorious for competitiveness, with everyone hunting gnolls teeth (great experience on turn in). Yet, I find that almost everyone helps, no-one wants to see you corpse-running and I have even been given some very good things (many thanks to Engleside, a true gentleman).

It really is reminiscent of 2000, when I first came here, both good and bad, but mostly good.

Oh you'll like this next one then.

After finding the wondrous tunnel of yelling, I ventured further into this wooded zone with skeletons, bears, and spiders oh my! After just barely surviving a bear attack I saw what looked like octagonal huts. Methough, "An Inn!" Images of mead and fresh bear steaks flooded my mind as I began to salivate. I quickly pulled out my trusty hand drums, and by trusty I mean I usually miss them with my hands, and I began to sing Selo's Accelerando in order to enjoy the mead/steaks that much faster. Little did I know I had not began singing Selo's Accelerando, I had actually began singing my Orc Lift guard friends' favorite Chord of Dissonance. Would you believe the guards at this inn also hated it equally?!

My luck... it happened again! At least I had the same bind point as last time... Orc Lift... In Greater Faydark... on another continent...
