Default Re-rolled as a rogue. Any advice?

Just re rolled as a half elf rogue (named Tanathir). Anyone have any advice on playing a rogue? I've never played one extensively before. Thanks in advance.

Make friends. Stay behind the mob. Don't get aggro. Try to not go AFK. In that order.

reroll dwarf, in my experience it will be more difficult finding a group, even at low-mid levels without an epic. I actually had a guy ask me if I had my epic at 29 and when I said no he told me I couldn't join the group.

play whatever race you want, leveled 2 to 60 myself and i think cecily has too, her tips were pretty spot on.

alot of rogue alt twinks tend to have their epic here so dont get mad if you dont get a group because of that, just how it is. xp should go pretty fast once you make a few pals to group with, rogues are pretty high wanted since they deal the most dps out of any class. use the wiki for best advice

As soon as you get backstab, do not start out with it in groups depending on how much damage you, unless you have an outstanding tank. If you have a good aggro tank, it shouldn't be to much of a problem. I am playing a barbarian and I was pulling aggro early on when evade wasn't high enough to work 100% to keep aggro away from a couple tanks.
I love wood elves(it is what i played in live) but to be honest, after playing a rogue to the 60's in live, I went barbarian due to STR and STA. It is very helpful in the early levels when you might be doing an occasional soloing. Much better damage.

Yeah thats a good point, let the tank get some aggro before backstabbing off the start of a fight, its not that bad later on because you can use evade.

If your not sure what evade is, basically you turn off attack hit hide during combat and you can drop your aggro if it lands successfully then attack back on.

Play whatever race you want for a rogue. Barbarians if you want the best stats, but a Ragebringer levels the playing field pretty well.

Starting points in Sta. You might not want them now, but you will someday, STR is easy to find. It's an extra 75hp at 50, an extra 100hp at 60. Not game changing, but when a single str buff caps you out, you'd rather have those HP.

Skill up lock picking as you go. Put 11 points into it to get it started from a trainer and then get to work in Befallen. Picking locks will be a good source of income at higher levels.

Save as many training points as you can for Apply Poison. Poisons are expensive to make and you'll waste too many of them trying to skill up apply poison. Most folks would argue against poison making at all, but it's nice to play with at higher levels to add flavor to the class.

Learn to sneak pull, it will give you more utility.

For the love of Bristlebane, wait for assist.
