Quake Live

IDK if many of you guys play, but I am a long time fan of the quake series. I haven't touched quake live since about 09, and I decided to get back into it. Right now I'm on a mission to make my rail style the closest to Quake 2, which I think is by far my most favorite looking rail shot. I miss quake 2 a lot , I spent many hours playing on Rocket Arena, and CTF. Is anyone here familiar with the quake 3 / Quake live config settings? I am very good at writing configs, but can't seem to get the trail delay / width / trail length of the outer layer to get the quake 2 beam.

do you understand the config? I am trying to figure out how to make my inner shot disipate before the outside ring. I changed my cg_railTrailTime 1500. it makes the shot last longer, and the outside ring out lasts the inner rail beam, now im just trying to get the width of the inner beam correct.

I'm an oldschool quake 1 (quake world) player who were claned with DOOMer and Lakerman among other famous quake people. I recently got a new friend on Red99 and we started talking about quake (he is also swedish around same age) and it turns out we met eachother on lan partys 15 years ago and we both played in different clans, small world [You must be logged in to view images. I didn't like Quake2/3 as much as 1 cause 2,3 felt slow in comparison also railgun is a coward weapon! I did play a lot of Quake 3 Arena (MOD) though!

I loved quake world, and quake 3. I completely understand how you feel about the railgun. The I just started playing quake live again last night, I hold a 30+ accuracy

quakeworld/q1 > q3/qlive, its kinda like what EQ is to all these other scrub ass mmos

i actually met doomer IRL during rapture99, which was a quakeworld NA vs EU 4v4 tournament, got flown out for free to scotland bros.. EU team beat us out 5 games to 4, but they were close even matches after QW was pretty much dead in the US and gaining steam in EU, people in EU still play that shit lol
