TBF he may not have known the way (easy as it may be not everyone knows the game as well as most of us.)
But if I need anything "special" I always tell the porter up front what I need and how much I'm willing to offer for the service. May take a few tries but someone always accepts the offer.
Also blesses to the CR porters. Surprisingly easy to get CR ports on Green.
