A bad idea is a bad idea forever.
Even if you think evolution is real, humans haven't evolved from creating bad design to good design in 20 years. 20 years is nothing in evolutionary terms.
If you lived 100 years ago it would be a bad idea never mind 20 years ago.
It looks like it was done on purpose.
But like I said, it's all fixable.
