you have to understand, a person like ecc this is all he has in his life clearly that gives him a sense of accomplishment and happiness. if you think about it, I feel kind of sad for him, because when this server is dead and gone he'll have nothing to use to escape from reality. Because you know he's just a sad lonely little man.
