 I have seen GTG and G2G cause some confusion in groups before.  By default I would expect it to mean "good to go" as in go ahead and pull, but on multiple occasions I have seen other group members interpret it as "got to go" and started saying their good byes to that person haha.  They even went as far as to recruit a replacement group member, then had to turn them away when they discovered the true meaning of the GTG.
I think it depends on your own acquaintance with the internet.  If you spend a lot of time in chat rooms and instant messenger apps, I can definitely see "g2g" being more known to you as "got to go."  But I think if ones history is more filled with MMORPGs then I'd expect them to use "gtg" as "good to go."
