I think it'd be better to talk about the merits of non-classic solutions in general instead of continuously trying to come up with plat sinks. There are many, many good plat sink ideas already... but I think the major reason they aren't pursued is an aversion toward 'customization' among the developers.
Discontent with raiding seems to be a more visible issue than inflation, and that still hasn't seen a non-classic solution beyond the system currently in place. And yes we've all heard "bla bla bla 2 years of kunark isnt classic, variance isnt classic, im a neckbeard"
My suggestion is they leave the economy alone, and continue avoiding high levels of intervention and customization. I don't think the current levels of mudflation are even all that destructive. It was still proportionately far easier for me to get a fungi tunic etc on p99 than it was for me at this point on live.
