The Chinese have numbers in excess, their main issue through our every war in their history has been supplying their massive armies. If the American air force gained air superiority and the navy gained dominance of the sea, then the Chinese would start to languish.
As for invading America, assuming you could defeat a host of the world's most powerful nations, you could just go Mongol on the population. Guns need owners to wield them. Hell in reference to Afghanistan, the Mongols are really the only outside group to hold Afghanistan for a long period, and that was from severe depopulation
