It's true. Mages lack a lot of vital "tricks" that Necro/Sk's have. Hence me rerolling from an Epic mage.
Epic mage pet is bonkers here, and pet damage/mitigation is not right. (shittier)
Sorry to dissapoint.
There are some good tricks out there for playing a mage, but just does not tally up to a Necro. Mages are great for group dps though. And the pets are better.
