I think there is a huge misconception about League players hugging towers and it weakening the action. Where as any good league player knows, towers are where exciting plays are made because of their deadliness.
The graphics in Dota2 just plain suck balls....Everything is muddy.
But yeah, (Riot/LoL) are constantly improving their models and scrapping old ones. It's what you do when you have an immense dev team. I also enjoy the maps being so vibrant and easy to see.

DOTA 2 is still in beta guys, you need a key to play... so many millions of those floating around it just screams desperation. Hero names are so ridiculous as well, who is your favourite guys? "Oh I love Earthshaker, he's so pro..."
