Pyrion Flax's guide to Dota2
Even if you just play League like I do, this video is hilarious.

I've watched a fair amount of Dota2 streams and even installed the game. It just doesn't stack up.
You could argue that Dota2 has more of an advanced map and that denying minions takes more skill. To me that's just more farming and less fighting. Sure it'd be cool to chop down trees, but I'd rather be able to hide in foliage.
I don't like how weak towers are in Dota2. I think there is a huge misconception about League players hugging towers and it weakening the action. Where as any good league player knows, towers are where exciting plays are made because of their deadliness.
The graphics in Dota2 just plain suck balls. Looks like the 1960s version of Class of the Titans. It seriously looks like fucking claymation. Everything is muddy. Now this could just be my inexperience with Dota2, but the spell effects when fights are happening all look generally the same and are pretty uninspiring. I can't shake the feeling that offensive moves just seem to look like they hit harder in League, they are more pronounced and flashy.
Dota2 players would argue that League looks like a shitty World of Warcraft inspired cartoon. It may have been true when the game was initially released, three or four years ago. It also doesn't help that 90% of the screenshots you see of the game are from the 2009 release and look like dog shit. But yeah, they are constantly improving their models and scrapping old ones. It's what you do when you have an immense dev team. I also enjoy the maps being so vibrant and easy to see.
The only thing that I really like about Dota2 are the character voices. So many lines of dialogue for each character depending on their actions. Where as in League they haven't fleshed it out much at all past standard taunt/joke commands.
tldr : League will keep getting more polished.
Dota2 will stagnate because the whole community is based on preserving something rather than pushing forward.
