Shaman is a FULL time job both grouping and soloing. It is a great class but a busy as hell one compared to a Cleric. The biggest problem with a Shaman is they are expensive as hell to equip. To be good you need a Fungi, JBB, Torpor, Haste item, Granite Face Grinder, etc. 200k plus to do it.
Shaman epic pretty easy, Cleric epic more expensive. But both classes are more than welcomed in groups. Just pick what you like not what is needed. It's a LONG way to 60.
