100 years from now, Hasbin's grandson and Jeremy's granddaughter are relaxing with a post-coital after-glow and listening to the latest album put out by James Hetfield III and Lars Ulrich IV band Coppertone:
Jeremy's granddaughter: This shit is so metal, reminds me of that crap my grand pappy used to listen to, Black Sunday or some shit like that. That is more like jazz then it is metal. THIS is metal.
HBBs grandson: I think you mean Black Sabbath, and they invented metal sweety. It's just changed over the years
Jeremy's granddaughter: Changed? Whatever all I know is that Coppertone is more metal than Black Sunday ever was.
HBBs grandson: *sigh*.. so you ready for round 2?
Jeremy's granddaughter: You know it.

I <3 fan fiction.
Heavy metal was discovered by butler, iommi, and ward in the run-up to the writing of this album, but it was certainly and definitively introduced to the world at their first reception of the riffing performed at 4:53 in this recording.

I defy anyone in the world to come up with a better definition and first appearance of metal than this. This riff is absolutely descriptive of what heavy metal is, and all metal since has drawn most of it's style and form, to this day, from this single piece of music.
