Yeah, the easiest way to do it would just be to hang around Fear and watch for guilds entering, and ask nicely if they're likely to have free tears you could snag. Shouldn't take too long to get one. The harder part will be rounding up a posse to do the final fight in CoM, if you're not guilded.
