jesus taught in parables. so it isnt so farfetched that some things were told the way they are told so people could understand better (as in things werent literal). its not like christians have a history of not understanding basic principles of nature that we know today. hell if they couldnt explain it back then it was witchcraft or heresy. world is flat yall.
