Just a quick correction, FE awards epic items based on guild contribution and not friendship with officers. I only knew 1 or 2 people in FE when I applied and they were all applicants themselves. I'm also a pretty quiet person and as a result haven't become super friendly with anyone I didn't know before I joined. Despite all of that I was awarded one of our first two Trak teeth for VP key and later our first Trak guts for bard epic. I won't trash talk this TMO, but as someone who originally joined FE after being turned away by TMO because they weren't recruiting bards, I've been pretty pleased with the way things have worked out and haven't ever felt like I needed to suck up to officers for loot.
