This pulls from the PEQ database, which is the "stock" database that's provided for emu servers. It's not exactly "pulled from the original game code" since that stuff is stored serverside, but the database is constructed from best guesses and research by the people who work on PEQ. It's known to be quite inaccurate and a bit sloppy however, which is why P99 exists in the first place. While PEQ is trying to "race" and create a database for all expansions, P99 focuses on high accuracy on only the classic game. There's another database called AX which also only focuses on classic expansions, but has a lot of the same issues that PEQ does. P99 was originally based on the AX database, but has evolved to become much better. The difference is now that AX is free to use and P99 is proprietary.
